Franklin 2026-27 New Student Enrollment

Two-Step Pre-Enrollment

Step 1: - Online Enrollment

Important: Please read before proceeding. 

  • Please make sure Franklin Elementary is your home school! (to confirm your home school, click here.) Franklin does not accept enrollments from outside our catchment area.
  • You will need a valid email address. The online enrollment process should take 20 to 30 minutes to complete. Please make sure you have all your labeled document pdfs/jpgs ready to upload when prompted. 

This includes: 

1. Your signed lease/property tax statement/mortgage statement

2. Two current utility bills (from the last 45 days) from 2 different providers (gas/electric/water). An auto insurance bill can also be used in place of one of the utility bills.

3. Your ID (Drivers License/ Passport) 

4. Your child’s complete Immunization Record (This can also be downloaded from https://myvaccinerecord.cdph.ca.gov/)

6. TK & K only: completed CA Dept of Health Oral Health Assessment Form signed by your child’s dentist. 

To get started registering a new student, click the Enroll A New Student button. If you would like to reprint or review students previously enrolled through the online system, click the Login button. 

 

Step 2: - Schedule an in-person appointment - Proof of Residency

  • You will need to have completed the online enrollment before making an in-person appointment to verify your residency. What to bring to your appointment:
  1. ID / State-issued or passport
  2. Birth Certificate or passport of your child
  3. Immunization records. NOTE FOR TK ONLY: Conditional Enrollment will be offered to TK students who have not yet completed their immunization requirements due to their immunization schedule. However, they can only start school on August 20 if they are FULLY IMMUNIZED. Here are the Immunization requirements for school entry. 
  4. Proof of residency documents: Your signed lease/property tax statement/mortgage statement, 2 current Utility bills from 2 different providers (gas/electric/water).  Click here for examples of proof of residency.
  5. Grades 1-5: Recent report card
  6. Reports of Assessments, 504 or IEP
 
  • Please note, applications under Affadavits of Residency will require further enrollment steps and documentation. Please contact Vidya Madiraju at extension 62205 or vmadiraju@smmusd for assistance.
  • Finally, please complete the Parent Input Form. This is required for completing enrollment.
